Home and Lancaster - April 2017

For the first time in 6 years, there was above average rainfall in Southern California. Snow was plentiful in the Sierra and Mammoth Mountain had record snowfall. The Oroville Dam spillway (which had not been used in 20 years) failed when water was sent down the spillway. This was due to poor construction and maintenance. The freesia in our yard were a multi-color delight, and the California poppies were in bloom all over the high desert west of Lancaster. Many hillsides were covered in yellow and purple flowers.
